ABOUT SAM
Sam Haid is a licensed counselor, registered art therapist, and artist based in Colorado. He holds licenses in Colorado (LPC) and New Mexico (LMHC), and is a nationally registered art therapist (ATR).
As a queer, gay man of European descent, Sam brings a unique and inclusive perspective to his work, offering a compassionate, culturally-sensitive, responsible, and affirming space for all.
With experience spanning community health centers, art therapy studios, youth shelters, and private group practice, Sam has co-facilitated therapeutic groups and helped individuals of diverse backgrounds. His holistic approach is shaped by these experiences, weaving creative expression and social-justice with evidence-based practices.
Sam earned his Master’s in Art Therapy and Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2021, following a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2016. He has pursued specialized training in Sandplay therapy, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Gottman Method, Somatic Experiencing, and more.
