ABOUT

Sam Haid is a licensed counselor, art therapist, and artist currently residing in Colorado. He is licensed in Colorado (LPC), New Mexico (LMHC), and a nationally registered art therapist (ATR-P).

I am a queer cisgender male of European descent. Much of my youth revolved around healing and therapy, so it was a natural progression for me to seek out the field professionally; I wanted to continue the legacy of healing, advocacy, and self-growth that so many others had done for me. I began to consider the field as an occupation when I discovered Art Therapy courses at my alma mater of SAIC.

I have had many different therapists, mentors, advocates, and supports who have substantially shaped my style and presence as a therapist. I have been told that as a therapist I am warm, safe, funny, and intuitive.

I have worked in a variety of settings including community health agencies, community art therapy studios, youth shelters, and private group practice. I have co-facilitated several therapeutic groups.

I received my Masters in Art Therapy/Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2021 and my Bachelors of Fine Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2016.

When I am not working, I enjoy going to the gym, hiking, and camping. I love to collect vinyl records. I love to make art and lay in grassy fields.

I am currently accepting clients for virtual session, or in Cheesman Park for walk & talk therapy.
